Brainerd Lakes Regional Airport
Increases Measures for Health Safety
At every step of your travel journey, we’re putting measures in place to help keep you safe and give you more peace of mind. Explore the ways we’re providing a safer flight experience starting at check-in.
A safer, cleaner, and more flexible experience is in store for you when you’re prepared to take your next flight. The Brainerd Lakes Regional Airport (BRD) is pleased to report that we’ve implemented the Delta CareStandard. From check-in as you depart from BRD until you claim your baggage at your destination, you will discover new health safety measures that focus on keeping surfaces clean, give customers more space throughout their travels, and offer safer service and personal care at every point along the way.
Learn more about the Delta CareStandard:
Before You Go — Check out what may have changed since your last flight. For example, the TSA’s checklist says each passenger may now bring a 12-ounce bottle of liquid hand sanitizer on U.S. flights. Bring a mask and pack light, too—the crew no longer assists with carry-ons to further reduce touchpoints. Learn more.
Check-in — All customers and employees must wear masks, and safety measures include hand sanitizer stations, plexiglass shields, and floor decals—touchpoint areas are wiped down and sanitized frequently throughout the day. Download the Fly Delta app for touchless check-in.
Security — Bins are sanitized throughout the day, alternating lanes are used when available, TSA employees wear masks and gloves, and hand sanitizer stations are available.
Boarding — Discover more space, cleaner surfaces, and reduced contact with other customers throughout the boarding experience. Boarding is limited to 10 customers at a time and boarding is from back to front and the reverse on arrival. See changes affecting Delta Sky Club members.
On Board — Middle seats are blocked and cabin seating is reduced. State-of-the-art air circulation systems with industrial-grade HEPA filters extract more than 99.99% of particles, including viruses. An extensive sanitizing checklist is followed, including electrostatic spraying and frequent sanitizing. Learn more about on-board cleanliness.
Your Seat — Electrostatic sprayers using high-grade disinfectant sanitize the entire cabin. Tray tables, armrests, and seatback screens are also individually sanitized before all flights and non-essential items (magazines and glassware) have been removed. Learn more about snack bags, care kits, and food/beverage options.
Baggage Claim — Baggage claim areas are sanitized using electrostatic sprayers with high-grade disinfectant; hand sanitizer stations are located near baggage carousels. Floor decals promote social distancing and plexiglass shields are in place at baggage services.
With our partner, Delta, Brainerd Lakes Regional Airport follows the guidance of CDC and WHO to ensure we’re meeting, and often exceeding, today’s higher standards for healthy flying.
